CEO of H2 Clean Energy LLC Alexey Kaplun took part in the round table “Energy transition to the Far East: renewable energy generation as a source of reliable and affordable electricity!”, organized by the Russia Renewable Energy Development Association
Company newsThe round table discussed the need and feasibility of developing renewable energy sources in the Far Eastern region. According to Alexey, taking into account the competitive prices for electricity from renewable energy sources in comparison with electricity from traditional sources, it is economically feasible to consider the possibility of covering local electricity shortages in some energy regions of the 2nd price zone and the UES of the East with the help of renewable energy generation facilities. To this end, Alexey Kaplun proposed transferring some of the renewable energy projects selected earlier at capacity provision contracts competitions to energy-scarce areas with appropriate adjustments to the regulatory framework, as well as considering the possibility of changing existing approaches to assessing the guaranteed capacity of renewable energy sources for renewable energy generation facilities distributed within one energy zone. This approach, according to Alexey, will reduce the forecast deficit in such territories not only of electricity, but also of capacity, reducing consumer costs for the development of the electrical grid infrastructure and reducing the time for technological connection.
