Shanghai, September 10 - Envision Energy, a global leader in wind turbine and green hydrogen equipment manufacturing, announced its plan to invest $1 billion in constructing an electrolyzer manufacturing facility and a net-zero industrial park in Spain. The agreement, signed between the Spanish government and Envision, was witnessed by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez during his visit to China.

The plant will produce high-capacity PEM electrolyzers and low- and high-pressure alkaline electrolyzers, which are essential for the electrolysis process used in green hydrogen production and other related equipment. With a projected capacity of 5 GW, the plant is expected to play a significant role in achieving Spain's Hydrogen Roadmap goals. Construction is set to begin by June 2026.

Additionally, Envision plans to establish Europe's first integrated green hydrogen net-zero industrial park in Spain. This facility will encompass design, research, manufacturing, and service functions for green hydrogen production, including electrolysis, air separation units (ASU), ammonia synthesis, and modular equipment for scalable green ammonia production.

Envision also intends to collaborate with partners in Spain to expand into the e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuel sectors, crucial for decarbonizing Spain's hard-to-abate industries.

Envision Energy is a leading global green technology company providing renewable energy solutions to enterprises, governments, and institutions worldwide. The company operates across three main business sectors: Smart Wind Turbines, Energy Storage, and Green Hydrogen Solutions.

Envision is expanding its footprint in the hydrogen energy sector. On August 15, 2023, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canadian fund management giant Brookfield to provide wind power and green hydrogen solutions for Australia's upcoming green hydrogen program.

On August 3, 2023, Envision announced regulatory approval for its solar-wind power-green hydrogen-green ammonia-green methanol project in Inner Mongolia. The project will be executed in three phases: the first two phases will each include 100,000 Nm³/h green hydrogen and 300,000 tons of green ammonia capacity, while the third phase will produce 100,000 Nm³/h green hydrogen and 300,000 tons of green methanol. The total investment is estimated at 9.8 billion RMB ($1.36 billion), with full operation expected by 2028. Envision's green hydrogen projects will likely utilize its proprietary electrolyzers, and the company is also developing a 2 GW electrolyzer plant in Inner Mongolia.
