Envision Energy marked a significant milestone on October 22, 2023 when it commenced the construction of phase 1 of its colossal zero-emission ammonia facility in Ongniud Banner, Inner Mongolia, which is slated to have a total capacity of 1.52 million tons. This groundbreaking project is set to be a substantial investment, with an estimated cost of 40 billion RMB (equivalent to $5.5 billion).

The facility's development is organized into three distinct phases:

Phase 1 (2022-2024) aims to establish a 56,000-ton green hydrogen production capacity, which will serve as the raw material for generating 320,000 tons of green ammonia.

Phase 2 (2024-2026) will involve the construction of an additional 300,000 tons of green ammonia production capacity and a 10,000-ton liquor hydrogen capacity.

Phase 3 (2026-2029) will focus on the creation of a staggering 900,000 tons of green ammonia capacity.

Ultimately, when all phases are completed, this immense facility will possess a total capacity of 1.52 million tons of green ammonia. The energy required for these operations will be drawn from newly constructed local wind and solar plants. In fact, the initial 320,000-ton capacity developed during phase 1 stands as the most substantial green ammonia project currently under construction in China, as per available data.

Envision Group is a globally recognized leader in renewable energy solutions and a trusted technology partner committed to achieving a net-zero future. Their mission revolves around addressing the challenges of sustainability. They specialize in the design, sales, and operation of intelligent wind turbines, smart storage systems, and green hydrogen solutions via Envision Energy, and AIoT-powered batteries through Envision AESC.

In 2022, Envision Energy secured an impressive 19.5GW wind turbine system procurement contracts, securing the top position in China, with Mingyang and Gold Wind trailing. Notably, approximately 82% of these contracts, equivalent to 6.7GW, were from overseas markets, highlighting the company's global presence as a renewable energy equipment giant. They maintain innovation centers in Denmark, Germany, the United States, and Singapore.

Envision Energy's growing interest in hydrogen energy, particularly in green hydrogen production, is evident in their recent activities. They've made significant strides in the hydrogen energy sector in 2023.

In June, the company announced a contract to supply 1.67 GW of wind turbines to NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, the world's largest utility-scale hydrogen plant powered entirely by renewable energy, located in Oxagon, Saudi Arabia's NEOM region.

On August 15th, they revealed a Memorandum of Understanding with Canadian Funds Management giant Brookfield to provide wind power and green hydrogen solutions for an upcoming green hydrogen program in Australia.

Furthermore, on August 3rd, Envision Energy unveiled that its solar-wind power-green hydrogen-green ammonia-green methanol project received regulatory approval in Inner Mongolia.

In a move to strengthen their competitiveness in the green hydrogen sector, Envision Energy announced on August 25th their plans to establish a 2GW electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Inner Mongolia, with 1GW dedicated to ALK electrolyzers and 1GW to PEM electrolyzers.
