FTXT demonstrated liquid hydrogen heavy-duty truck in Beijing
Industry newsLiquid hydrogen possesses a notably higher energy density in relation to its volume compared to gaseous hydrogen. Consequently, it can carry more hydrogen, significantly extending the truck's range and enabling comparable performance to that of a conventional diesel truck.
Nevertheless, the application of liquid hydrogen in vehicles presents numerous technical challenges. Maintaining hydrogen in its energy-dense liquid state demands extremely cold temperatures, reaching negative 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This necessitates a specialized tank system capable of storing liquid hydrogen at such frigid temperatures and delivering it to the fuel cell system at the required pressure.
Established in 2019, FTXT Technology has established itself as a prominent innovator in fuel cell stacks and systems, as well as a provider of hydrogen solutions in China. The company operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Greatwall Motor, the 10th largest automobile manufacturer in China, which achieved remarkable sales figures of 1.28 million vehicles and recorded revenue of 137.3 billion Rmb in 2022.
FTXT Technology now offers a comprehensive range of hydrogen fuel cell stacks and engines, spanning from 80kw to 255kw. Additionally, the company provides solutions for energy storage and energy-to-heat applications.
