Indian hydrogen electrolyser maker inks 300MW licensing deal for Chinese technology
Industry newsThe agreement also opens the door to possible collaboration on other hydrogen-related equipment, such as "hydrogenation machines" — a term commonly used in China to describe hydrogen refuelling stations or facilities for producing hydrogen for the transportation sector.
Advait Infratech currently has a factory in Gujarat capable of producing 120MW of electrolyser capacity per year, with plans to expand this to 200MW by 2025. Earlier this year, the Indian government selected Advait Infratech as one of the winners in its first auction for electrolyser manufacturing subsidies. The company will receive incentives to support 100MW of manufacturing capacity annually over the next five years. These subsidies will start at a maximum of 4,440 rupees ($52.89) per kilowatt and will gradually decrease to 1,480 rupees, provided the company meets local content and domestic sales requirements.
The initial memorandum of understanding between Advait Infratech and Guofu Hydrogen was signed in September 2023.
