Lotte Air Liquide Enerhy opens Korea’s largest hydrogen shipping center

LOTTE Chemical and Air Liquide Korea said on the 11th that Lotte Air Liquide Enerhy, a joint venture the two companies jointly established in 2022, held a completion ceremony for a state-of-the-art high-pressure hydrogen shipping center in Daesan, South Chungcheong Province, and began commercial operation.

In particular, it is expected to serve as key infrastructure for fueling large hydrogen commercial vehicles (buses and trucks).

With support from the government’s subsidy program for building hydrogen shipping centers and LOTTE Chemical’s stable supply of byproduct hydrogen, the plan is to grow into Korea’s largest 450 bar (bar, pressure ratio relative to atmospheric pressure) high-pressure hydrogen production hub. That is enough to supply 4,200 passenger cars a day or 1,100 hydrogen buses.

Lotte Air Liquide Enerhy also plans to boost logistics efficiency by introducing state-of-the-art high-pressure tube trailers. These trailers can transport 3.5 times more hydrogen than conventional 200 bar trailers.
