The Sultanate of Oman is making decisive strides in the realm of green hydrogen, aiming to establish itself as a prominent international player in this sector. This aligns with the directives set forth by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The editorial article titled "Green Hydrogen" underscores Oman's unwavering dedication to this cause, highlighting the endorsement of numerous projects designed to generate an annual output of 750,300 tons of green hydrogen. These initiatives require a substantial investment of $2.024 billion. This initial phase focuses on three concession zones situated in the Dhofar Governorate.

As the editorial elucidates, a subsequent phase is anticipated to be granted by the first quarter of 2030. This phase constitutes a continuation of Oman's ambitious pursuits, with a goal to achieve a production capacity exceeding one million tons by 2050. Oman is acutely aware of the pivotal role that green hydrogen is poised to assume in the global energy landscape. These aspirations mirror the nation's overarching vision of transforming into a significant exporter within this domain, concurrently integrating hydrogen into local industries to supplant existing gas consumption.

A striking manifestation of Oman's unwavering commitment to this promising sector is marked by the arrival of the world's pioneer liquefied hydrogen tanker, named the "Suisso Frontier," at Port Sultan Qaboos.
