Hydrogen production on Sakhalin, its transportation, sales and storage in the Republic of Korea
The project considers construction of the hydrogen production plant by water electrolysis method, export deliveries to the Republic of Korea jointly with the products of the project for the construction of a plant for the production of low-carbon hydrogen with CO2 capture and storage, developed by JSC Rusatom Overseas (RAOS).
To power the hydrogen production plant by water electrolysis method it is planned to construct a wind power plant (WPP). The potential capacity of the wind farm is preliminary considered in the amount of at least 350 MW.
OF WIND FARM
PRODUCTION JOINTLY WITH RAOS
STORAGE IN THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA
The transportation of liquid hydrogen is considered using tank containers for liquid hydrogen, as well as using specialized ships for the transportation of liquid hydrogen.
To ensure the shipment of products, it is planned to use the facilities of the Korsakov Sea Commercial Port or to construct a specialized container / loading terminal.
The Republic of Korea is considered as the key sales market. In order to ensure the continuity of hydrogen deliveries, it is planned to organize the construction of liquid hydrogen storage facilities with a total capacity of at least 160 tons / day and its operation.
The potential annual production of liquid hydrogen is estimated to be at least 55,000 tons, incl. 35,000 tons from the project for the construction of a plant for the production of low-carbon hydrogen with CO2 capture and storage, developed by RAOS, 20,000 tons - from the project for the construction of the hydrogen production plant by water electrolysis method.
The planned project implementation term – 2026.
