Production of carbon-neutral ammonia / ammonium nitrate in the Republic of Khakassia

The project assumes construction of the hydrogen production plant by water electrolysis method with utilization of the electricity from Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP, as well as plants for production of ammonia / ammonium nitrate
The project is planned to be located in the Republic of Khakassia, at a short distance to the existing Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP.
Alkaline electrolysis is considered as the preferred hydrogen production technology. Transportation of ammonia is planned using ammonia tank containers by railway.
The countries of the Asia-Pacific region are considered as the key sales markets for ammonia, ammonium nitrate will be mainly supplied to the domestic market.
